Lately

Lately life has been a blur of coffee, suitcases, friends and food. I have started the process of sifting through all of my clothes and possessions, and have realized just exactly how much crap I have. I feel like a hoarder, I guess I must be my mothers daughter after all ha. Point is, fitting your life into two 50 pound suitcases for 2-3 years is a lot harder than I thought it'd be. Everything makes me sentimental, but weirdly enough all of this has made me realize that taking a year off after graduating instead of jumping into Grad school was a good idea. My head may be a jumble of recipes for lattes and specialty drinks after a year of working at a coffee shop, but its relaxed and ready to take on this new adventure. If I hadn't, I fear I may have burnt out half way through...
Anywho, on the brightside my last week at work is next week and I couldn't be happier to no longer serve coffee to rude rich upper west siders... well with the exception of the handful of great customers I had and my coworkers. It's definitely bittersweet, and the past couple of days the reality of my departure is becoming scarily real. The last time I up and moved like this was over 2 years ago when I studied in England, so I am a little anxious.
I'll leave you with a few photos from the past couple of days, excuse the camera phone quality. Sometimes I can't be bothered to lug my dslr around.

Carrot cake/cheesecake. Do I even need to say more? Junior's cheesecake is just about the best cheesecake ever! The cheesecake factory has never done much to my taste buds, and this is the reason why.

I am convinced I need a big floppy hat, not sure exactly if I can pull it off haha. I wonder if i'll get too many weird looks in scotland if I bust this baby out?

Mmm Bryant park in the summer, extra sunny and not too full. I am not looking forward to the madness that will ensue in the city once fashion week arrives...

Movin' on up!

Right now, I can't stop smiling! The last couple of weeks have been painstakingly long, what with appointments, tons of paper work, and waiting for my visa stuff to go through as well as making sure all my University stuff is in check. I'm the kinda person who needs to be told a few times that everything is going ok before I believe it. The last thing I want is to arrive in Glasgow and be told "sorry, didn't you get the memo?" haha.

Anywho, the point of this is that my visa has been approved and my One way ticket has been purchased! None of this has hit me yet. I don't know at what point it will, but I do know that this summer is flying by ridiculously fast (heat waves and all). I mean come on, its friggin' August already!

So excited I took an excited photobooth picture! I'm such a dork.
